Stewart's Shops is celebrating a successful conclusion to its 40th annual Holiday Match campaign, raising over $1.8 million to support local charities. The campaign, which ran from the end of November through Christmas, saw customers donating more than $900,000. Stewart's matched these donations dollar for dollar, doubling the impact of the contributions.
The funds raised will benefit hundreds of nonprofit organizations focused on improving the lives of children in New York and Vermont. Since its inception in 1986, the Holiday Match program has raised more than $40 million for such causes.
Stewart's Shops, which employs 5,500 people and operates over 400 convenience stores across upstate New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire, emphasized the importance of customer generosity in achieving this year's results. According to a statement from Stewart's, there were no administrative fees, ensuring that all funds go directly to the nonprofits.
Nonprofit organizations interested in applying for funding can do so online until January 31.
