An investigation is ongoing into a fatal crash that occurred in Brunswick on Thursday (January 8). According to the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office, the incident involved a single vehicle traveling northbound on State Route 351. The vehicle left the roadway and plunged into a steep ravine near White Church Road.

Emergency responders, including members of the Eagle Mills Fire Department, Poestenkill Fire Department, and New York State Police, quickly arrived at the scene. Despite their efforts, one person was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased is being withheld until the family is notified.

The crash led to the temporary closure of State Route 351 between White Church Road and Dearstyne Road to allow for a thorough investigation and safe operation by emergency personnel. The road has since reopened for regular traffic.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities are seeking assistance from the public. Anyone with information about the accident is encouraged to contact the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office.
