The pool at the former College of Saint Rose campus in Albany is set to reopen on Monday (January 12) after extensive renovations. This reopening marks a significant moment for the community, as the pool had been unused since the college closed following the 2023-2024 academic year.

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy announced the pool's reopening, emphasizing its importance to the community. "This pool is more than just a facility; it’s a symbol of renewal for our community," McCoy stated. The pool, located at the Events and Athletic Center, has been fully renovated and is now ready to serve the public once again.

The reopening will feature a phased schedule of activities, including open lap swim sessions starting January 12 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 9 p.m., and morning sessions beginning January 26 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8 to 10 a.m. Additionally, Aqua Zumba classes will be held on Fridays from January 16 to March 6, and various swimming lessons will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting January 27.

For more details on pool hours, programs, and registration, residents can visit Albany County's website or call (518) 655-7948.
