Albany Man, 77, Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle in Colonie

An Albany man, Cornelius Morrison, aged 77, died after being struck by a vehicle on Central Avenue in Colonie on Wednesday (January 14) evening. The incident occurred around 5:34 p.m. near the intersection of Reynolds Street. Morrison was transported to Albany Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to Colonie police, the area of Central Avenue from Osborne Road to Kraft Avenue was closed from approximately 6 to 8:30 p.m. for the investigation. The driver involved in the accident stopped at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Police confirmed that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and no charges are expected to be filed.

CBS6 Albany reported that Morrison was not in a marked crosswalk when the accident occurred. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
