A walkout ceremony will take place today for retiring Rotterdam Police Chief Michael Brown. After 29 years of dedicated service, Chief Brown is stepping down from his role. The event will be held at the Rotterdam Police headquarters on Princetown Road at 3 p.m.
During the ceremony, Chief Brown will receive the inaugural "Town of Rotterdam Lion's Award," an honor recognizing a resident who has made significant contributions to the community. In addition, his badge number will be retired as a tribute to his years of service and commitment to the department.
Chief Brown's career with the Rotterdam Police Department began 29 years ago, and he has served as the police chief since being appointed in 2021. His leadership and dedication have left a lasting impact on the community and the department.
