Congressman Paul Tonko of New York's 20th Congressional District will face a re-election challenge from Republican Ralph Ambrosio. Ambrosio, a Navy veteran and attorney, previously ran for Albany County District Attorney. He plans to focus his campaign on lowering the cost of living, government accountability, and restoring public safety.

Ambrosio will officially launch his campaign on Friday (January 23) at the Green House Social Club of La Serre in Albany. He aims to unseat Tonko, who has represented the district since 2009. Tonko, a Democrat, has been a prominent figure in the House of Representatives, known for his work on energy and environmental issues.

The upcoming election is expected to draw significant attention, as both candidates emphasize different priorities for the district. Ambrosio's campaign highlights his experience with the State Police and as an assistant attorney general under former State Attorney General Dennis Vacco.

As the election approaches, both candidates will likely intensify their efforts to connect with voters and address key issues impacting the district. The race will be closely watched as part of the broader political landscape in New York.
