A third-prize winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at Star Fuel on Upper Glen Street in Queensbury, New York, according to lottery officials. The New York State Lottery is now searching for the fortunate ticket holder who matched four numbers plus the Powerball in Saturday's (February 1) drawing.
The winning numbers for Saturday's drawing were 2, 8, 14, 40, 63, with a red Powerball of 23, according to NEWS10. The odds of matching four numbers plus the Powerball are approximately 1 in 913,129.
No one claimed the jackpot in Saturday's drawing, pushing Monday's (February 2) estimated prize to $65 million. Powerball drawings are held three times weekly on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday evenings at 10:59 p.m.
This latest win adds to a streak of lottery luck in Warren County. Recently, another resident became an instant millionaire after purchasing a $5 "More Money" scratch-off ticket at the Queensbury Walmart Superstore, as reported by local media. That winner opted for the lump sum payment.
The winning numbers for Powerball are drawn from a field of 1 to 69, while the red Powerball number comes from a separate field of 1 to 26. Players must claim their prizes in the state where they purchased their tickets.
