A 15-year-old boy is recovering in stable condition after being stabbed in Albany on Sunday (February 1).
Albany Police officers responded to reports of a stabbing around 4:05 p.m. near Lark Street and Orange Street, where they found the teenager suffering from wounds to his hand and abdomen, according to WNYT.
Investigators believe the actual stabbing occurred earlier in the vicinity of Henry Johnson Boulevard and Sheridan Avenue, though the victim was located at a different location.
The teen received immediate medical attention from the Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel at the scene before being transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital. Hospital staff have listed him in stable condition as he continues to recover from his injuries, CBS6 Albany reports.
This incident comes amid other recent youth violence in the area. WNYT noted related incidents including a 16-year-old being shot in the leg and three teens being stabbed in Albany earlier.
The investigation remains active, with no arrests made so far. The Times Union reports that police are asking for the public's assistance in gathering information about the stabbing.
