A 21-year-old Albany man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a family member during an altercation at a residence on Rooney Road.
Albany Police responded to reports of a stabbing at approximately 2:30 a.m. on Sunday (February 8) at a home on Rooney Road, according to CBS6 Albany. Upon arrival, officers found a 45-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his leg.
The victim received immediate treatment from the Albany Fire Department at the scene before being transported to Albany Medical Center. Officials have confirmed his injuries are non-life-threatening.
The suspect, identified as **Nahkeem Ambrose**, remained at the scene and was taken into custody by responding officers. Police investigation determined that the stabbing resulted from a family-related altercation, though specific details about what triggered the incident have not been released.
Ambrose has been charged with one count of Assault in the 2nd degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree, WNYT reported. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Sunday morning.
This incident comes amid other recent stabbing cases in Albany that authorities have been investigating, though there's no indication this case is related to those previous incidents.
