The Guilderland Fire Department is once again helping community members share the love this Valentine's Day with their annual rose sale fundraiser. The event kicks off Thursday (February 12) at the fire station located at 2303 Western Avenue in Guilderland.

This year's sale offers several floral options for last-minute Valentine's shoppers. Customers can purchase two dozen pastel roses for $30 or one dozen long-stem roses starting at $35. According to NEWS10, the department is operating on a first-come, first-served basis with no presale orders being accepted.

For those looking to create a more elaborate Valentine's gift, the fire department will also offer cards, balloons, vases, chocolates, and teddy bears for purchase alongside the flowers. Both cash and card payments are accepted at the event.

The fundraiser will run from February 12 through Valentine's Day on February 14, with the station open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. 1st Responder News reports that the sale will also feature locally handcrafted candy from Candy Kraft.

All proceeds from the rose sale will support the fire department's mission of keeping the community safe, including firefighter recruiting efforts, fire prevention programs, and community outreach projects.

The Guilderland Fire Department, which accepts members between the ages of 16 and 65 who can pass a physical exam, continues to serve as an important community institution. Those interested in learning more about joining the department can call (518) 456-5000 or email info@guilderlandfd.org.
