New details have emerged about the tragic fire in Queensbury that claimed the life of Colleen Cogovan-Duell on Sunday, February 15. The fire, which occurred at a home on Clendon Brook Road, was determined not to be suspicious in nature, according to a joint investigation by the Warren County Cause and Origin Team and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control Arson Bureau.

The fire was reported at 8:25 p.m. by a passing driver, prompting a rapid response from the West Glens Falls Volunteer Fire Company and other local departments. Despite an aggressive attack on the blaze, it was too late for Cogovan-Duell, who was found deceased on the first floor due to smoke inhalation. Tragically, her two dogs and three cats also perished in the fire, with one dog initially rescued but later succumbing to its injuries at a local animal hospital.

One firefighter was treated for minor injuries at Glens Falls Hospital and has since been released. The community mourns the loss of Cogovan-Duell, a beloved member of the Adirondack Animal Hospital and Talk of the Town family. "We are all shocked and deeply saddened by her passing," the Adirondack Animal Hospital shared on Facebook.

The fire remains under investigation to determine its exact cause, but authorities have confirmed there was no foul play involved. The community continues to grieve as they remember Cogovan-Duell's contributions and spirit.
