Albany police have arrested David Trebilcock, 44, following a violent assault at the Capital District Psychiatric Center on New Scotland Avenue. The incident occurred early Monday (March 2), involving Trebilcock and a 55-year-old woman, both patients at the facility.
According to authorities, Trebilcock attacked the woman by kicking, punching, and stomping on her face and head, causing severe injuries. The victim was treated at the scene and later transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital, where she remains in critical but stable condition.
Trebilcock was taken into custody at the scene and has been charged with attempted murder. He was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and is currently held at Albany County Jail. The assault took place in a common area of the psychiatric center, as determined by detectives.
