The 26th Annual Dr. King Career Fair is set for Thursday (April 2) at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany, giving job seekers a chance to connect with more than 150 businesses from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event, hosted by the New York State Department of Labor and several state partners, is free to attend and aims to help people find new jobs or switch careers while honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., according to the event organizers.
Those attending the fair are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resume, dress professionally, and take advantage of free services such as resume reviews and professional headshots. The career fair has become one of the most widely attended events in the Capital Region, regularly drawing hundreds of job seekers and connecting them with employers looking to fill open positions.
This year marks the 26th time the event has been held, with support from groups like the Office of General Services, Governor’s Office of the Chief Disability Officer, and Capital District Transportation Authority. Organizers say the fair offers opportunities not only for job matching but also for career development and networking. Additional training and job opportunities are available through the Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and the New York State Department of Labor.
For more information or to schedule an appointment with the career team, job seekers can reach out to Anita DeCianni-Brown, Director of Career & Experiential Learning Services. The career fair continues to provide a vital resource for the local community and is expected to help hundreds of Albany-area residents take the next step in their professional journey.
