Authorities in Albany are continuing their investigation into a head-on crash that took place early Sunday morning (March 29) on Interstate 787, near Exit Four. According to New York State Police, a vehicle traveling the wrong way on I-787 northbound struck a tow truck head-on around 4:20 a.m. Both drivers were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, while a passenger in the tow truck was not hurt. All northbound lanes of I-787 were closed for about four hours following the accident but have since reopened, police said.

At this time, no charges have been filed, and the investigation remains active. State Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the incident to come forward. As reported by NEWS10 ABC, police are still working to determine why the vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction.

There is no indication that this crash is connected to another recent incident on I-787, where a police pursuit ended in a crash with minor injuries, as covered by CBS6 Albany.

Anyone with information related to the head-on collision is encouraged to contact New York State Police as the investigation continues.
