Nighttime lane closures are now in effect on State Route Seven in Troy as needed utility work gets underway. According to the New York State Department of Transportation, drivers can expect westbound lane closures between North Lake Avenue and Burdett Avenue from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night for about six weeks.
The DOT advises motorists to plan for possible delays and to allow extra travel time. The work zone is part of ongoing utility upgrades in the Collar City area. As reported by NEWS10 ABC, these closures are expected to last through the spring, weather permitting, and schedules may change based on conditions.
Drivers can check live traffic updates and plan their routes using NEWS10’s traffic tracker. The DOT reminds the public that construction schedules are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
Lane closures for other roadwork projects are also happening across the region, but Troy's State Route Seven project is one of the more significant for local commuters. More information about ongoing road projects can be found in the regional road work report from The Daily Post Digital.
The DOT encourages residents to stay informed and adjust travel plans as needed until the project wraps up.
