The 10th season of the CDPHP Cycle! bike-share program is officially back across the Capital Region, with more than 600 green-and-purple bikes rolling out at stations in cities like Albany, Schenectady, Troy, Saratoga Springs, and beyond. Riders will have access to more than 400 electric-assist bikes and brand-new pedal bikes during the milestone season, which launched Wednesday (April 1). The program, run by the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA), aims to provide an eco-friendly, affordable, and convenient way for residents and visitors to get around.
This year, riders can expect special promotions, discounts, and contests, as well as the return of the popular “Return N Earn” initiative, according to CDTA. The “Return N Earn” program allows members to earn credits towards a new membership by bringing bikes left outside of official hubs back to CDPHP Cycle! stations. For example, anyone with a monthly plan who returns an out-of-hub bike to a designated rack 20 times can earn enough points to pay for their next month’s membership.
Seasonal, monthly, and student passes remain available, with prices starting at $0.08 per mile for standard pedal bikes and $0.15 per mile for e-bikes. CDPHP members also receive 60 free minutes of riding, which can be split into three 20-minute rides by using a code from their CDPHP account, as detailed on the CDPHP website. The program also partners with the Albany Housing Authority to offer reduced-cost memberships to residents.
The bike-share program has become a key part of sustainable transportation in the region. In 2025, CDPHP Cycle! set a record with one million trips taken in a single season, reflecting its growing popularity, as NEWS10 ABC reported.
Frank Annicaro, CEO of CDTA, said, “This program has transformed the way people move around the Capital Region, providing a flexible, sustainable option that complements public transit and supports healthier communities. We’re looking forward to celebrating this achievement with our riders all season long.”
The season typically runs from April to November, depending on weather conditions. For the latest information on bike locations, maps, pricing, and to download the CDPHP Cycle! app, visit www.cdphpcycle.org.
