An investigation is ongoing into a tragic crash that occurred on Thursday (April 2) in Charlton, resulting in the death of 69-year-old William Utter from Broadalbin. According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, the incident took place at 5:51 a.m. on West Line Road. Utter was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe southbound when the vehicle crossed into the northbound lane, left the road, and ended up in a ditch.
Utter was transported to Saratoga Hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite efforts to save him. His passenger, 63-year-old Teresa Utter, also from Broadalbin, was taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries that are believed to be non-life-threatening.
The Sheriff's Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the accident to contact the sheriff's department.
This incident highlights the importance of road safety and the need for thorough investigations to determine the factors leading to such tragedies.
