Schenectady County is offering a free rabies vaccination clinic for pets on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to noon at Schenectady High School. The clinic is open to county residents and will provide vaccinations for ferrets, dogs, and cats. Appointments are required and can be made online or by calling (518) 386-2818.

The clinic aims to make pet vaccinations more accessible and efficient, vaccinating one animal every 30 seconds. Pet owners are encouraged to bring their pets in carriers or on leashes and provide necessary information for a vaccination certificate.

Schenectady County Legislator Michelle Ostrelich emphasized the importance of keeping pets up-to-date on rabies vaccines, stating, "Pets are an important part of the family, and keeping them up-to-date on rabies vaccines helps protect their health and the health of our community." The drive-thru model used in these clinics helps reduce stress on pets and minimizes wait times.

Schenectady High School is located at 1445 The Plaza. For more information about rabies and the clinic, visit the county’s website.
