The annual "Operation Refresh" cleanup effort kicks off today in Troy as crews begin enhancing the city's cleanliness and appearance. Led by Mayor Carmella Mantello, the initiative involves Quality-of-Life Action Teams working across the city to perform street sweeping, deep cleaning of alleyways, and improvements to parks and public spaces.

According to NEWS10, the project is part of Troy's ongoing mission to maintain a safe and vibrant community. Mayor Mantello emphasized the importance of community involvement, encouraging residents to follow the city's spring-cleaning schedule. Residents are asked to place leaves and yard debris along the curb the night before their scheduled cleaning day and to observe all posted parking restrictions.

Additionally, free bulk trash drop-off days at the Alamo are planned for spring, summer, and fall. Details for the spring event will be announced soon. The full cleaning schedule is available on the City of Troy's website.

Residents can also participate in the citywide Earth Week cleanup efforts from April 20 to April 26. For any questions, contact the Department of Public Works Dispatch at 518-270-4579.
