A 57-year-old man is recovering after being hit by a car on Monday evening (April 13) in Albany. The incident occurred around 5:20 p.m. in the 500 block of Central Avenue near Partridge Street. According to Albany Police, the man was crossing Central Avenue outside of a crosswalk when he was struck.
The victim suffered lacerations to the back of his head and eyebrow area and was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The driver involved in the accident stopped immediately and is cooperating with law enforcement, as reported by WNYT.
Police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. The preliminary findings suggest that the pedestrian was not using a crosswalk at the time of the incident, according to NEWS10.
As the investigation proceeds, no charges have been filed against the driver, and authorities have not indicated any further developments at this time.
