An investigation is ongoing after a tour bus carrying Bronx high school students and chaperones crashed Sunday morning near the intersection of Diamond Point Road and Lake Shore Drive in Lake George. According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the bus was traveling eastbound on Diamond Point Road when it failed to stop at the intersection, left the roadway, and struck multiple trees, an outbuilding, a boat, and a car before coming to a stop.

Seventeen students and six adults from several Bronx high schools were on board at the time of the crash. The bus driver was transported to Albany Medical Center with more serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while at least four passengers were treated at Glens Falls Hospital for minor injuries. The remaining passengers were taken by a Lake George Central School District bus to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, where they received assistance from the Warren County Office of Emergency Services and the American Red Cross.

The American Red Cross provided food, blankets, and comfort kits to those affected. The Lake George school district clarified that its students were not involved in the incident.

New York State Police and Warren County officials are investigating the cause of the crash. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to contact local police as they continue to gather information.
