The Republican majority House of Representatives passed President Donald Trump's 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act' Thursday (July 3), the New York Post reports.

The legislation was approved with a 218-214 vote following lengthy deliberation, which included the longest procedural vote in the House's 236-year history. Only two House Republicans, Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, were the only two congressmen, voted against the bill.

“Largest Tax Cuts in History and a Booming Economy vs. Biggest Tax Increase in History, and a Failed Economy. What are the Republicans waiting for??? What are you trying to prove??? MAGA IS NOT HAPPY, AND IT’S COSTING YOU VOTES!!!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social account just after midnight.

The bill was advanced by House Republicans to a final yes-or-no vote overnight. A 219-213 vote was cast at around 3:30 a.m. after closed-door meetings on Capitol Hill and the White House on Wednesday (July 2). Debate was reopened for a final vote that was expected at around 5:30 a.m. local time, which followed an earlier procedural vote that was held open for seven hours, allowing Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson more time to sway possible holdouts to support the bill.

Senate had previously passed the 940-page legislation, which includes tax cuts, a funding boost for immigration enforcement and Medicaid cuts, as well as other provisions. The bill was being raced by Republican politicians aiming to meet a self-imposed July 4 deadline.

Democrats, who are the minority in both the House of Representatives and Senate, were united in their opposition of Trump's bill, claiming its tax breaks disproportionately benefit the wealthy while cutting services that are heavily relied on by lower- and middle-income Americans.
