Albany Rally Held to Oppose President Trump's Cabinet

A rally was held in downtown Albany this afternoon outside the Leo O'Brien Federal Building, opposing President Donald Trump's cabinet and agenda.

Those attending were trying to send a message to Senators Chuck Schumer & Kirsten Gillibrand, urging Congress to stop Trump's cabinet.  Organizer Joe Seeman:  "We are here to send a message to our Senators that we're counting on them to stand strong to oppose Trump's swamp cabinet"

The group was unable to meet with Senators Schumer & Gillibrand's offices. Staffers did not have a large enough space to accommodate the protesters inside the building.

Susan Weber says the public needs to get a closer look  at who's been nominated and confirmed. "The Trump proposed cabinet members are just not appropriate.  Each one of them seems to be totally against the purpose for which each of these important cabinet positions was established."

Among President Trump's cabinet nominees the group is opposed to are: Jeff Sessions for Attorney General, Rex Tillerson for Secretary of State, and Tom Price for Health and Human Services. The local event was part of national demonstrations organized with MoveOn.org, the Working Families Party, and People’s Action.
