The Colonie Police Department has located the owner of two pit bulls that were found by a driver last week in Colonie as they were running loose in a field adjacent to the Ann Lee Pond at 776 Watervliet Shaker Road.
Police have interviewed the owner (who lives in Schenectady), however she says the dogs were stolen from her apartment last week.
The male pit bull was found to have an approximately six inch long deep laceration to his neck and the wound was infected. The female was underweight and had some skin and coat conditions.
Anyone with more information about what happened to the pups is asked to call Colonie Police at 783.2744.
