19-year-old Michael Carr of Colonie pleaded not guilty Thursday at Albany County Court relating to the October 2016 car crash into Blessings Tavern.

Carr was allegedly driving his 2006 BMW on Consaul Road in Colonie when he crashed into the tavern leaving passenger 16-year-old Niko DiNovo with third-degree burns over 95% of his body.

Carr faces charges including vehicular assault and driving while impaired and has been released under the supervision of the Albany County Probation Department.

Blessings Tavern has since been demolished due to the amount of damage from the crash. It first opened in 1946 and was the oldest tavern in Colonie.

DiNovo remains in recovery.
