Mumps Outbreak at UAlbany

UAlbany is on high alert after an outbreak of mumps on campus.

Three students have recently been infected, and the fear of the disease spreading is real.

At a meeting with schools from around the country, students spoke with News Channel 13, and expressed their concerns.

"I'm worried about the general population, other students could get it, and I don't want it to spread any more than it has."

Mumps can spread through saliva from the nose, throat, or mouth.

Symptoms include fever, muscle aches, and loss of appetite.

Campus officials say the three confirmed cases have been isolated and are working with Health Officials to push vaccinations and keep everyone safe.
