A jury has found 25-year-old Alex West guilty in eight out of the 12 charges against him.
West was piloting a boat on Lake George last Summer that crashed into another boat, killing 8-year-old Charlotte McCue of California.
West was found Guilty of:
- 2nd degree Manslaughter
- 2nd degree Assault
- Criminally negligent homicide
- Two counts of leaving the scene of an accident without reporting
- Boating while ability impaired by alcohol
- Reckless operation of a vessel
- Criminal possession of a controlled substance (cocaine)
West was found not guilty of:
- 2nd degree vehicular manslaughter
- 1st degree vehicular assault
- 2nd degree vehicular assault
- Boating while ability impaired by drugs
West was not granted bail and was led out of court in handcuffs. He could now face 7 1/3 to 22 years in prison. He'll be sentenced on June 5.
