A new smartphone app is live that allows visitors to explore the City of Albany and learn about its historic sites and buildings.
The, "Tour Albany" app was created by Columbia Development and the Historic Albany Foundation, partially with funding awarded by the city.
Historic Albany's Executive Director Susan Holland explains what pops up at each location.
"So you get the name of the building, and also what it was when it was in sort of its glory days, if you will. There was a couple I didn't know on State Street, I was unaware that they actually had a name."
Walking tours and podcasts are included as part of the app.
The creators expect to continue to expand it over time.
