With Congress in the midst of its traditional August recess, Rep. John Faso (R-Kinderhook) is joining a bipartisan delegation to Israel this week.
"We have a close relationship with the state of Israel," Faso said. "We're their closest ally, and it's important for the U.S. on a bi-partisan basis, and that's one of the things we're doing here is to re-affirm our bi-partisan commitment in the Congress."
Faso and the others will visit key strategic sites, and will meet with both Israeli *and* Palestinian leaders to gain insight on some of the issues the region faces.
The trip has been sponsored and paid for by the American Israel Education Foundation. Faso is scheduled to return to the U.S. on Sunday.
