Four Teens Arrested in Ballston Spa School Threat

Four teenage, a 13-year-old, a 14-year-old, and two 15-year-olds have been arrested and are facing charges related to a social media threat directed at Ballston Spa Middle and High schools.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's office says that the 14-year-old posted a threat on the social media site Instagram about a shooting at the school.

Another student brought a "blank" pistol to the school that looked identical to a real pistol and along with the two other teens, has been charged with unlawful possession of weapons by persons under sixteen.

This comes not quite two days after the mass shooting in Las Vegas. School officials put their buildings on lockdown for part of Tuesday morning.

Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo says the schools and his officers responded appropriately and followed proper protocols.

Classes at the schools resumed as normal Tuesday morning.

All of the teens involved were referred to the Saratoga County Probation Department.
