It has been done in other parts of the country and now it's happening in Albany.
Friday from 7:30am to 10:30am, Albany Police will be hosting a "Coffee with a Cop"program at police headquarters at 165 Henry Johnson Blvd and holding an open house.
Members of the community are invited to get a cup of coffee and talk with police officers and also check out various equipment used by the police dept.
