Homeless Veterans Receive Variety of Services at Elks Club

More than 200 veterans were able to take advantage of free services offered at the Colonie Elks Club.

The Capital Region Homeless Veterans Stand Down event provides a variety of services to homeless veterans and those at risk of becoming homeless.

Veteran Tina Henderson Arceneau tells News Channel 13 that there is more to this event, however, than just services.

"There's always old vets that can tell you good war stories to the younger vets, and the younger vets can share their experience with them, so it's a day of sharing."

The yearly event provides hot meals, clothing, winter gear, health screenings, and housing information to veterans.
