Local Corrections Officers Send Truck Full of Emergency Supplies

Corrections officers have loaded a tractor trailer full of emergency supplies for disaster relief.

A retired corrections officer, Steve Humphrey, kicked off the effort to give back, saying he lost everything in Tropical Storm Irene.

The truck has been filled with bottled water, baby supplies, pet food, and clothing.

NYSCOPBA's Jim Miller tells News Channel 13 that it is a community effort.

"The residents in this area, from all over the Greene County and the surrounding regions that donated, everybody should be commended for what they did."

It left Coxsackie Correctional Facility yesterday for Florida, to help victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria.
