24 teams competed in the annual Robot Rumble off-season competition in Ballston Spa yesterday.
Team Captain Dylan Jacobs tells News Channel 13 you learn a lot more than just simply appreciating science, technology, engineering, and math.
"Even more importantly, it shows you how to function as a member of something bigger, and I think that's something that people can really learn from, even if you're not interested in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering."
In this competition, students design and program robots with the help of mentors.
The actual contest or competition is designed by having the completed robots perform difficult maneuvers and tasks.
The winner of this year's Robot Rumble has not yet been formally announced.
