Legislation to be Proposed Allowing for Emergency Propane Deliveries

Capital Region residents are getting desperate as deliveries of propane are delayed and their heating supply is becoming critically low.

Some residents have reached out to Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara.

He tells News Channel 13 about his plans to introduce legislation this week to allow for emergency deliveries from alternate suppliers.

"If the gas company does not show up, or the delivery is delayed, and it's an emergency situation, they're going to be able to go to another supplier."

Customers who lease propane tanks are limited to using only that provider.

However, in this latest cold snap, suppliers are getting backed up on deliveries, sometimes by several weeks.
