Major Winter Storm Heading for the Capital Region

The Capital Region is bracing for a hard hitting storm.

We’re expecting the snow Wednesday morning, total accumulation from 6-10 inches by the evening.

South of the Capital Region sleet and freezing rain can mix in with the snow.

The high temperature on Wednesday expected to hit 27.

Snow emergencies are in place for a number of communities.

State D.O.T. crews and local road crews are gearing up for the snow.

D.O.T says they have 36,000 tons of salt, plows and plow crews are ready to go.

Some crews will be on extended shifts Wednesday.
