A plane is forced to make an emergency landing Saturday afternoon in Columbia County.
The Sheriff's office says the pilot of a single engine aircraft reported his engine was stalling and would not restart. He had to land in a grassy farm field next to Koeppe Road in the Town of Taghkanic.
The plane lost its landing gear due to the ground not being level and the left wing struck the ground, causing the plane to spin 180 degrees. Two Berkshire County men were on board at the time and were not injured.
The plane had been flying from the Dutchess County Airport to the Great Barrington, Massachusetts Airport and the investigation has now been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
