Dozens of Illegal Immigrants to be Housed at a Local Jail

Dozens of illegal immigrants arrested as part of the on-going federal crackdown will soon be housed at the Albany County jail.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says he was recently contacted by The Department of Homeland Security, who said it was looking for a place to house people arrested for minor offenses.

Apple says the jail has been at half capacity since last year and he feels they would be better off here than, as he put it, "in a tent city in the middle of the desert."

The Sheriff also says he's working with Albany Law School to provide the illegal immigrants with free legal services.
