In response to the recent uptick in violence in the City of Albany, the founder of the Guardian Angels says he and several members of the organization will be in the city Tuesday night.

Curtis Sliwa says the patrols will be in the Arbor Hill and South End neighborhoods in an effort to stop the violence and to recruit for a new chapter.

Since July 3rd, there have been 13 shootings in the city, and two homicides.

The Guardian Angels are a non-profit international volunteer organization made up of unarmed citizens in effort to fight crime. The organization was founded on February 13, 1979 by Sliwa and has over 130 chapters around the world.
