Triple Crown winner Justify will not be running during the 150th meet at Saratoga Race Course, but many of the best thoroughbreds will be at the historic track for the 40-day season.
The meet features 69 stakes races, worth $18.8 million in purses.
One of the big reveals for the new season: amenities at the new, "The Stretch" seating area at the end of the Grandstand.
N.Y.R.A. C.E.O. Chris Kay says there is a 15-inch iPad for every two people in that area, allowing you to wager on N.Y.R.A. bets, order food and have it delivered to your seat, and choose from 40 different television channels in between races.
W.G.Y.'s Jim Gagliardi says it is clear that N.Y.R.A. wants to attract newer, younger fans.
"They really want to get the younger fans in here, and so this has access to a full service bar, high definition televisions, a relaxed dress code in, 'The Stretch' as well, and single-day tickets for premium reserve seats are available for purchase through Ticketmaster.com"
W.G.Y. is your home for live coverage of the Whitney Stakes and Travers Stakes.
