No Parole for the Man Responsible for a Deadly Northway Crash

Dennis Drue

The man responsible for a 2012 crash on the Northway that killed two Shenendehowa High School students and left two others injured will stay behind bars for at least the next two years.

Families of Deanna Rivers and Chris Stewart say they were told this morning that Dennis Drue was denied parole.  Drue is serving a 5 to 15 year prison term for his role in the deadly crash.

Drue's next chance at freedom will be in two years.

Here is a statement from the Rivers family Facebook page:

DENIED PAROLE.  He will spend the next two years still behind bars where he should be and belongs. We want to thank especially our family, friends, the Class of 2013, and the "518" for your love and continued support. Again, you all stood behind us when we needed it and our hearts thank you.

DEANNA AND CHRIS FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS
