Congress Members Deliver Insistent Letter on, 'I Love NY' Sign Removal

Two area Congress members are joining four other members, to ask when the controversial, "I Love New York" signs will be coming down.

These signs are located on the Thruway and other state interstates.

19th District Congressman John Faso, 21st District Congresswoman Elise Stafanik, and four other congressional members sent a letter to Governor Cuomo, asking when the signs will come down.

The Federal Department of Transportation is currently withholding $14 million worth of federal highway aid until the signs are removed.

State officials are now saying they will be removed by the end of September.

In February, officials announced that the promotional campaign was successful, and the signs would be coming down.
