Wrong Way Driver Causes Police-Involved Crash in Troy

FROM THE TROY POLICE DEPARTMENT:

The Troy Police Department is reporting an officer involved crash that occurred today at around 9:45am (Tuesday) at the intersection of River Street and Douw Street. The investigation revealed that the Officer was traveling southbound on River Street when he collided with a vehicle that was traveling westbound on Douw Street. Both drivers were treated at the scene by Troy Fire Department medics. The Officer involved sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported by a TFD ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment. He has since been released. 

The other driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital to get checked out. She has also been released. 

The driver traveling on Douw Street was ticketed for traveling the wrong way on a one way street and failure to use caution in an intersection. 

She is scheduled to appear in Troy City Traffic Court at a later date.
