A day after saying the benefits outweigh the risks of recreational marijuana, Governor Cuomo announced plans for a series of "listening sessions" on a regulated program.
The first in a series of 15 such sessions will be held at the Albany Capital Center on Wednesday, September 5th with a second meeting the following day at SUNY Adirondack in Glens Falls.
The Governor's office says the idea is to gather input from community members as a state work group prepares to draft legislation to create a regulated program for recreational pot.
A Health Department report on the impact of legalizing marijuana was released in July which concluded that the potential positive impacts were greater than the negatives.
