Incumbent Governor Andrew Cuomo, has beaten back the challenge of Actress Cynthia Nixon in the Democratic Primary for Governor. Cuomo Jumped out to a 33 point lead early on, and maintained that lead most of the night. Cuomo spent millions of dollars on advertising in recent weeks, while Nixon blasted his record as not progressive enough.
Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul overcame an early lead that New York City Councilman Jumaane Williams had and won the Primary For Lt. Governor.
New York City Public Advocate Tish James, has defeated 3 other candidates to win the Democratic Primary for Attorney General.
