Malaya Johnson has been located, and is safe.

The 12-year-old Hudson Falls girl was found Friday in New York City.

19-year-old George Torres has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Police say he drove up from Staten Island on Wednesday to pick her up.

Washington County Public Defender Michael Mercure is the attorney for Torres.

He says Malaya and Torres reached out to each other on Facebook, and essentially, he was invited to come and pick her up, and take her to New York City.

Torres is facing kidnapping and child endangerment charges, although investigators believe Malaya got in the car willingly.

Mercure says it is clearly not a kidnapping, or an abduction.

Washington County Sheriffs say there was another man questioned, but he is cooperating, and is not being charged.

The Amber Alert issued on Thursday for Malaya was cancelled on Friday.
