A dozen homes ravaged by early morning fires

Albany fire

Fire Departments from nearby cities had to be called in after fires broke out in two separate locations in the City of Albany. Combined, 12 buildings were involved in the fires. The first one broke out around 3 o'clock Sunday morning at 334 Sheridan Avenue.  Then, just before 5 o'clock, calls on a fire at 176 Quail Street came in.  Both fires quickly spread to nearby residences.  At least one person was taken to Albany Medical Center from the Quail Street fire.  The cause of both fires is under investigation, but officials do not believe they are related.
