State police have now confirmed that 20 people have been killed in a two vehicle crash in Schoharie.
The deadly two-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Routes 30 and 30A.
One of the vehicles was a limousine van carrying numerous people. 18 people died in the limousine and two bystanders were killed in front of the Apple Barrel Store and Cafe.
The tragic accident happened just before 2PM Saturday afternoon..
State Police are stressing that the investigation is in it's infancy stages and several units are assisting. The N.T.S.B. is now involved in the investigation. Robert Sumwalt is the chairman of the N.T.S.B. He expects investigators to be at the site for 5 days. Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara says that many of the victims are from the Amsterdam area.
