Around 100 Animals Discovered in Troy Home

It's a disturbing case of animal hoarding. Troy Police received a tip that there was a house on Campbell Avenue that contained a large number of animals not being cared for. 

Officers and detectives searched the house Tuesday Morning, they say there was on overpowering stench when they entered the building. 

Officers say in the building were 38 dogs, at least 38 cats, 18 birds and 6 ferrets. Mohawk and Hudson Humane Society removing the pets, some were in cages, and others were wandering around the house. 

The house has now been deemed "uninhabitable" by the Troy Department of Code Enforcement.

With the aid of the Troy Police Department Animal Control Officer and the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society; the animals have been removed and are being looked after.
