Troubled Troy Cop Resigns, Accused of Assaulting Little League Coach

A Troy police officer with a troubled history has resigned from his job. Dominick Comitale pleaded not guilty last week to charges of assault and harassment stemming from an incident in September at the Twin Town Little League in North Greenbush. Comitale is accused of grabbing the shirt of one of the coaches, Darren Ayotte, and pinning him against a car.

The Troy Police Department says the resignation was effective on January 2nd.

He has had four previous excessive-force complaints. Settlements have cost the city of Troy more than $174,000.
